I was very fortunate to get the opportunity to turn some Hawaiian Koa recently, and this piece has so many of the wonderful features of its species. The intense spalting in the sapwood required stabilization, and this piece ended up measuring approximately 8 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall. It is also finished with walnut oil, making it safe for food contact.
