Birch Burl Hybrid Red/Green Resin Vase - Waterproof
This vase stands approximately 9 inches tall and 5 inches wide and is waterproof and ready for live flowers. The star of this vase is a Birch burl that I harvested from a standing dead tree while hiking the backwoods of Maine. While the red and green themed resin appears to be a bit Christmassy, it was actually inspired by my recent Portuguese themed vase where I used cork bark and the same red and green colors. Given the propensity that red and green have, when mixed, to turn brown, it was an exercise in patience to discover how to maintain good color separation in the resin. All told, I think this color scheme might be one of my favorites, and it certainly makes this vase a one-of-a-kind piece.
