Hawaiian Mango & Resin Hybrid Vessel with Purpleheart Finial
There's so much to look at in this piece with the spalting and curly grain and the added details of the finial and resin. Hawaiian Mango is always full of character, and in this case, there were deep bark inclusions that were asking for a bit of resin experimentation. I rarely use purple pigment, but it seemed like a unique opportunity to do so in combination with the purpleheart finial. It has been a while since I've turned a finial, and it remains one of my favorite things to turn. With the lid in place, this piece measures approximately 10 inches tall and 7 inches wide.
