Cherry Burl & Resin Hybrid Hollow Form - Waterproof
This piece was inspired by my recent “Spike Burl” video project but on a larger scale. It was made from a single cherry burl, harvested from a standing dead tree right here in Maine. The stabilizing effect of the black resin highlights so many interesting features of the wood, including the decay which, in effect, has been frozen in time. This piece measures approximately 12 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide, and the ultra-clear resin finish makes this piece waterproof and super shiny!
